1. 심시티 4가 설치된 폴더에 들어간다.
설치시 폴더 변경을 안했다면 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition\Apps" 로 들어가면 된다.
2. 해당 경로에 있을 simcity4.exe (확장자 표시를 꺼뒀다면 파일 유형이 응용프로그램인 simcity4를 찾으면된다.)의 바로가기를 바탕화면에 만든다.
3. 생성된 바로가기의 속성에 들어가서 대상 뒤에
-w : 창모드 옵션
-CustomResolution:enabled : 원하는 해상도로 변경할 수 있는 옵션 활성화
-r1920x1080 : -r 뒤에 원하는 해상도를 적어준다.
4. 적용 후 실행하면 된다.
* 현재 지원가능한 해상도는
1280x800, 1440x900, 1680x1050, 1920x1200, 1360x768, 1024x600, 1600x900, 1920x1080, and 2048x1152.

* 추가로 인트로를 끄고 싶다면 -intro:off 인수를 추가해주면 된다.
* 주의 : 오리진런처에서 심시티 4 게임 속성에 인수를 주면 오히려 게임 실행이 안된다. 이는 오리진을 통해 심시티 4를 실행시킬 시 연결된 파일이 simcity4.exe가 아닌 eahelper인가 뭔가 하는 응용프로그램이기 때문이다. 절대 거기다 적고 왜 실행이 안되냐고 묻지 말자.
